VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
Sourced from our Nanya Vineyard in the Riverland from our own “heritage” clone of Riesling originally planted by Tom Angove in the early 70’s. This particular clone of Riesling produces an extremely varietally expressive wine in our region. Cuttings have since been grafted to new rootstocks to re-establish this heritage on modern trellising with drip irrigation – the legend continues.

An ideal vintage with some good rain events and improved infl ows into the Murray Darling basin allowing vines to be well tended during the growing season. A short heat spike in November lead to some irregular flowering and set and subsequently reduced yield. The remainder of the growing period was excellent with abundant sunshine for ripening, yet cool nights to help retain flavour and natural acidity.

Picked late at night to harvest the grapes as cold as possible the grapes were transported to the winery and pressed using modern membrane tank presses. After cold settling the clear juice was carefully racked to cooled fermentation tanks and inoculated with selected yeasts. Cool fermentation was followed by minimal handling filtration and bottling at the Angove Estate.

Colour   Bright pale-medium straw colour with some green hues.

Aroma This delicious riesling has a flamboyant lifted floral nose with some citrus and tropical depth.

Palate These floral characters carry through on the palate, underpinned with some lime and citrus, and a hint of guava, with a good weight with a clean and soft finish of surprising length.

Food Match This is the perfect accompaniment to Asian cuisine and grilled fish.
