Region  Grown in the clay based soils of Marlborough’s Wither Hills and free draining sites throughout the Wairau Valley,

Winemaking the grapes for this Pinot Gris were only hand picked once the berries had turned deep bronze in colour and the flavours almost honey like.

Vinification Cool fermentation in stainless steel was carried out for the aromatic component of the blend to allow undiluted expression of the fruit.  A portion of the blend was subjected to wild fermentation in seasoned French barriques, and this highlighted its rich, honeyed notes.

Bouquet A generous, full-bodied yet dry style of Pinot Gris, our 2007 has pear and spiced apple aromas,

Palate notes of wild honey and stonefruit on the palate and a long rich textured finish.
