Pinot Noir
The 2007 vintage was harvested in mid April and totally hand picked from a variety of clones, all located on the home block at Crighton Estate. A mix of new and old french oak barrels have been used in the fermentation process and all indications suggest ‘a pinot that will turn heads’. Presently, the wine is of a deep vibrant colour exhibiting black boy plums, blackberry with hints of tomato leaf and herbs. Chocolate/roasted coffee bean starting to show along with spice and toasty oak. A firm full palate densely packed with fine tannins, succulent ripe fruit in the middle well integrated with toasty oak. The finish is warm and long indicating elevated alcohol from very ripe fruit. Quantities are not large with only around 800 cases available. Release will be approximately September to October 2008. Similar quantities will be released in 2009
