Bouquet and Palate This is a spicy and vibrant wine. Lifted berry fruit aromas on the nose are complexed with spice & pepper. The palate is rich with balanced oak, fruit and spice leading to a long soft earthy finish.

VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
The grapes for this wine were sourced from selected certified organic grape growers in South Australia. Soils are predominantly red sandy loam over limestone, on gently undulating east west ridges.
2008 was an early vintage, with good ripening conditions in January and February, followed by some extreme heat in March. Disease pressures were low, but ripening was quite fast putting emphasis back on the winemakers to manage grape harvest timing carefully. The grapes for this wine were picked at night to make sure that they were as cool as possible. Crushed to modern rotary fermenters the grapes were then allowed to acerate for 2 days before inoculation and fermentation. Pressed off skins 7 days later and allowed to go through the second malolactic fermentation. Stored in small oak barrels until assemblage the wine has then had minimal handling prior to filtration for bottling at our certified Organic winery.

'A fragrant, light-bodied wine with juicy red and black fruits, no oak and minimal tannins; works well.'

'Organically grown and made wine that is part of the second release of this range from Angoves. Has a fine, soft, generous texture with a silky smooth palate profile. Lovely tannin and oak influence with lifted savoury and vanillin aromas. Nice current drinking wine.'
