Region: Piedmont, Italy
Hand Picked Moscato D'Asti
Vintage NV
Region: Piedmont, Italy, DOCG*
The Piedmont region in northern Italy is famous for its bold reds of Nebbiolo (Barolo & Barbaresco), Dolcetto and Barbera along with its unique Asti sparkling wines. Moscato d’Asti is a elegant and subtle wine which, unlike the Asti sparkling wines, is slightly ‘frizzante’ – a term for a light sparkling quality. It is considered a sweet wine, yet does not drink like one, due to the great balance and crisp acids.
Tasting notes
This wine is obtained by 100% Moscato Bianco Grapes, cultivated in the vineyards on the beautiful hills around the provinces of Asti, Alessandria and Cuneo, in the Piedmont region.
Colour It shows an attractive straw-yellow colour with golden highlights.
Aroma The aromatic bouquet displays notes of white flowers and fruits such as peach, apricot and orange.
Palate On the palate, it is delicately sweet, aromatic and fresh, with a low alcoholic content which makes it particularly delightful.
Food MatchThis wine is ideal with rich pastries, fruit and fine chocolates and perfect for all occasions: parties, celebrations, dinners, lunches, as an aperitif as well as a dessert wine. As one of the most refreshing wines in the world, Moscato d’Asti is a wine intended for the pure and simple pleasures, especially on a hot summers day and should be served chilled
