Aroma  Cooks Lot Merlot has aromas of mulberries, rose, plums and cedar.

Palate  The palate is rich and silky with a lingering finish.

Cellar The excellent balance of fruit and oak integration ensures that Cooks Lot Merlot will reward medium term cellaring

Vintage
The 2008 Cooks Lot  vintage started with very cool spring with a mild mid season and finished with a cool harvest. One of the coolest vintages for many years.

Vinification
The fruit was destemmed, crushed and fermented in open vats. The ferment was plunged and pumped over twice daily for colour and tannin extraction. Cooks Lot Merlot was matured in American oak barriques for 12 months for further complexity adding clove and pimento aromas. The wine had minimal fining and filtering prior to bottling.
