Region Barossa Valley,SA
Colour The colour is a delightful pale yellow with green tints.
Aroma On the nose it has fresh aromas of lemon flower, a touch of honey and undertones of bees’ wax, characteristic of Semillon.
Palate The palate is very clean with bright lemon/citrus flavours, and shows an attractive creamy soft mouth feel, and finishes long with an attractive zesty acidity.
The 2008 vintage after an early start, was marked by perfect harvest weather, warm days and cool nights, followed by a burst of heat at the end. The Semillon grapes were harvested in February.
Winemaking The fruit was picked early, crushed, chilled and the juice separated immediately from the skins to enhance delicacy. Following cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine was clarified and bottled.
Food Match Semillon is the “Must Have” wine in the fridge! A delicious aperitif, and is a perfect accompaniment to smoked salmon, fresh asparagus, Caesar Salad, creamy soups and pasta dishes.
